The Practice

One House of Peace offers a Zen Awareness Practice of Consciousness. Anyone who wishes to deepen his or her spiritual pathway may participate. This practice of consciousness is open to all.

What is Awareness Practice?

Peace bellIt is a practice of personal transformation based on the foundation of focusing attention on the present moment. This focus assists us in disengaging from habitual, conditioned, and unsatisfying habits and behaviors such as stress, fear, and discontent. Awareness Practice helps us to see clearly, as such patterns arise, that we have the opportunity to make different choices. The Practice’s focus is on bringing awareness to process – how we do what we do – including both mental and physical as well as energetic patterns. As we attend to how and where limitation is created in our bodies, our minds, and in our energetic systems we learn to access the alternative: liberation. We learn to be free.

One House of Peace has helped guide me to a place where I really feel like anything is possible. I’ve always been introspective and have enjoyed the process of trying to uncover why I am the way I am, this all happening on a very intellectual level. Through practice and through consultations with Caverly, I have learned to trust in my experience and that I don’t need to always dig through the past to find an answer to the present. There’s a lot of freedom that comes with being able to be with whatever is in front of me. I am so grateful to One House of Peace and Caverly for providing the space so I could discover all of this for myself.

You will learn to experience this through:

  • Learning to meditate (or deepening your meditation practice if you already have one)
  • Gaining the skills to see process – how we cause ourselves to suffer
  • Adopting tools to identify negative thought patterns and transform them
  • Compassionate communication skills for conversing with the various aspects of the self and others
  • Learning specific chanting and breathing techniques designed to shift the energy of the body
  • Accessing the internal mentor within
  • Learning how to create a regular practice of consciousness that is seamlessly integrated into your life
