One House of Peace offers regular residential retreats in a variety of locations. Retreats are an opportunity for those new to practice to immerse themselves in a supportive learning environment. For seasoned practitioners they are an opportunity to deepen practice. Retreats consist of sitting/walking meditation, chanting, and workshop sessions. A silent environment, nourishing, mindfully prepared food, and leisure time in a beautiful setting set the stage for these opportunities to remove external distractions and help you focus on practice for extended periods of time. Though the retreat topics may change, all retreats focus on assisting us in remembering who we are and nourishing the spiritual practice which leads us to freedom.
“The retreat with Caverly was an extraordinary gift to myself. I was free from my responsibilities with Bud, my husband who has Alzheimer’s, and free from any responsibilities from home. It gave me a chance to focus on my Awareness Practice and what I want next in life. It gave me a chance to examine what my values are and how I want to live. It was a preview of the peace and tranquility I crave and the yoga was the physical exercise my body craves. The meditation and discussions fed my soul and the food was the kind I want to eat from now on. In other words, I got a taste of what I want my life to be. I had a chance to live in my future.”
